Philip J. Super
President
Phil Super (BA '74, Bradley University) is President of USI Affinity Collegiate Insurance Resources. Before joining one of CIR's precursor companies, AIA, in 1993, Phil spent 19 years in higher education. He was Executive Director of the alumni associations of the University of Colorado at Boulder, the University of Oregon and Bradley University.
"CIR is uniquely positioned to serve the college and university marketplace," Phil said during a recent conversation. "We have a deep appreciation for the difficult and complex work our friends in higher education are accomplishing. It's important to us that their constituents embrace them as resources that can help them throughout their lives."
He is a member of the Council for Advancement and Support of Education and a former and Charter Member of The Council of Alumni Association Executives. He serves on the National Council of the American Institute of Professional Association Group Insurance Administrators and is a member of the Professional Insurance Marketing Association.
Phil is also an oenophile, a lover and connoisseur of wine. He also enjoys traveling, especially if he can find a red carpet lounge in the airport, and spending time unwinding in his cabin in Colorado.
Jeff Roedel
Chief Operating Officer
Jeff Roedel (BA '83, MA '89, The Ohio State University) is Chief Operating Officer of USI Affinity Collegiate Insurance Resources. He joined AIA, one of CIR's precursor companies, in 1995 after 10 years in alumni relations at The Ohio State University and the University of Colorado at Boulder.
"CIR is built on the premise that we succeed or fail as a team," Jeff observed recently. "Like our partners on campus, we always get better results when we seek diversity of opinion, contribute our expertise freely and demand the best from ourselves and each other."
Jeff has been active in several professional organizations, including the Council for Advancement and Support of Education, the Direct Marketing Association, the Professional Insurance Marketing Association and the American Institute of Professional Association Group Insurance Administrators.
In his free time, Jeff enjoys listening to music and staying physically active. He especially likes skiing in his native Colorado. Papillion puppies are recent additions to Jeff's life and need much of his free time.
Jim Gallagher
Senior Vice President - Sales & Client Relations
Jim Gallagher (BS ’88, The Ohio State University) is Senior Vice President of Sales and Client Relations at USI Affinity Collegiate Insurance Resources. He joined AIA, one of CIR’s precursor companies, in 1996 after six years in corporate property and casualty risk management.
“Our staff is focused on meeting and exceeding our clients’ expectations. We will not under-deliver or over-promise, ” Jim recently commented. “We are honest and forthcoming with our clients and view our programs as partnerships that should benefit all parties including our clients’, their institutions, their constituents and CIR.”
Jim is an elected officer of the Professional Insurance Marketing Association and active in the Council for Advancement and Support of Education and the American Institute of Professional Association Group Insurance Administrators.
When Jim is not working, he enjoys reading about neuroscience and neuropsychology. He plays volleyball and low stakes poker.
Joseph C. Seufer
President, Student Health Division
Joe Seufer (BA ’77, The Pennsylvania State University) is President, Student Health Division of USI Affinity Collegiate Insurance Resources. From 1983-2008, he was the President of Special Risk Consultants, Inc. (SRC) and National Collegiate Underwriters & Administrators, Inc. (NCUA), both precursor companies to CIR. SRC and NCUA were independent insurance agencies specializing in the design and management of student medical insurance programs.
“Our clients need a trusted advisor for their insurance programs,” Joe stated recently. “By acting as a broker, we can help our clients meet their goals by offering plans from more than one insurance company. This ensures that the college or university, and its students, will have access to the best plan possible.”
He is a member of American College Health Association (ACHA), the Association of Health Insurance Agents (AHIA), the National Association of College & University Business Officers (NACUBO), the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors (NAIFA) and the National Association of Life Underwriters (NALU).
When Joe is away from the office he enjoys keeping up with the interests of his wife, Joan, and their four children (ages 9 to 21), is an avid competitive golfer, and pursues cattle ranching.
